Emilie Lesgourgues (b. 1991) is a film director based in Paris, France.

Influenced and nourished by the music videos made by such outstanding directors of the 1990s as Sofia Coppola, Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham, Michel Gondry, Anton Corbijn and Tamra Davis, she began experimenting at the dawn of adolescence, downloading videos from YouTube and editing clips to accompany her favorite songs, not having a camera at her disposal to shoot her own images.

Later, she experimented with different tools, such as mini DV camcorders, the first so-called "reflex" cameras, and also began film photography.

This practice enabled her to develop her sensitivity to shooting, composition and image texture, as well as different processes such as lomography, double exposure, Polaroid, various photographic collages combining painting and drawing, the use of scanners for photomontages and so on. Her growing interest and preference for film photography and her sensitivity to the immediacy, instantaneity and uniqueness of film led her to shoot naturally in Super 8 and 16 mm.

After working for several years in post-production for commercials, music videos and cinematic fiction, as well as as a freelance director, she naturally embarked for narrative, fashion & commercials for films and digital.

She is fascinated by images that share the subtleties of everyday life, whether it's a light, a color, a sound, or even a movement. She appreciates the idea of capturing a fragment, a detail, of capturing and revealing its sensitivity. Her desire through her creations is to evoke sincere and profound emotions hidden within these ordinary moments.

Her work is fueled by emotion, strong artistic and musical direction, and narratives linked to the psychological dramas often associated with minorities, inspired by different subcultures, real-life situations and her own personal experience.
